Venues will be advised on receipt of entry provided a sae is enclosed. The Committee reserves the right to cancel any competition where entry is less than 5. In order to encourage the few ladies who turn out to fence, they may be included in men’s competitions but this will only be if
circumstances dictate. All cheques for County competitions to be made payable to “Sussex County Fencing Union” and sent as notified above. If you wish to have a reply, please enter early enough for this to be done. BFA MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR ALL COMPETITIONS AND TRAINING SESSIONS and evidence of membership must be produced on checking in. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO FENCE IF YOU HAVE NOT AFFILIATED. Club affiliation is also required. Please help us by renewing your membership on time. Membership is on a rolling basis.
All perpetual trophies must be returned polished prior to the following year’s competition.
Please let me know NOW if dates need changing as it is very difficult to fit in with other fixtures.

Note. The Sussex AGM will be held before the Senior Team Championships on 31st May 2009.

Sussex is holding its tenth Open Competition on 3th October 2009 (Epee) and 4th Oct 2009 (Foil) at Portslade.

Training days will be arranged and notified later. - The Sussex Team Challenge will probably takes place in September as this was a popular date. Details later.

SUSSEX COUNTY FENCING UNION IS COMMITTED TO UPHOLDING THE RULES OF THE BFA and FIE. PLEASE COMPLY WITH THE SAFETY GUIDELINES AT COMPETITIONS AND IN THE CLUBROOM. LEGS SHOULD BE COVERED AT ALL TIMES.

*ENTRIES REGION COMPETITIONS - Region closing dates are 14 days before event. Fee for all individual competitions, including junior competitions, is £14 but there will be no levy on those promoted to BYC finals as this will now be paid from the competition entries. Cheques must accompany entries and should be made out to the host county and sent to the secretary of that county union unless otherwise stated. Give name, address, post code, tel no., dob if junior, sex, name of competition you wish to enter, your CURRENT BFA NO. and name of club and enclose a SAE. Juniors under the age of 18 require parent or guardian permission in writing. TAKE YOUR BFA CARD TO ALL COMPETITIONS.
Note. Associate membership is OK for county and regional comps but you will need full membership for open and national competitions. All British and England Fencing Fees are liable to changefrom 1st January as decided by the AGM. Associate membership may not be available after that date.
